Housing Justice

Our Housing Committee advocates for safe and affordable housing for our most disinvested populations, such as young families, seniors, and unhoused individuals. It manages the Norwalk Tenants Union to uplift and address tenants’ issues. The committee also collaborates with our Support Not Sweeps Coalition to lessen the financial burden that housing and living costs have on our community members with weekly mutual aid volunteer events.

Transportation Equity

Our Transportation Committee promotes active transportation and advocates for bikeable and walkable infrastructure with connections to public transportation. The committee manages the Beecycle Club, a bike club based in Norwalk that meets monthly for community bike rides. And it raises awareness of the need for improved active transportation access for healthier and more climate-friendly mobility.

Environmental Justice

The Environmental Committee works towards a healthy environment through clean air initiatives, gardening, and educational programs on local sustainable practices. It partners with other organizations to engage in regular plant education and advocate against harmful air pollution.

Youth Outreach

The Youth Committee supports the other committees with outreach by engaging youth (16 to 24 years old) in workshops and monthly meetings. Through active participation, we empower youth in Southeast Los Angeles County to voice their concerns and contribute to solutions that enhance the quality of life in the region.
